About Us
Originally founded in the UK, Tree Tents has been crafting award-winning, eco-conscious structures for the last decade. With our USA division officially launching as of 2024, we’re excited to help redefine the camping experience all across North America’s beautiful landscapes. Focused around sustainability, our products are as comfortable off-grid as they are on-grid, and designed for sustainable and low-impact stays amongst the trees, and beyond. Our time-tested designs are some of the most unique and innovative glamping options you’ll find on the market, and we're excited to share them with you.
Our Story
Our Founder and Design Director, Jason Thawley, spent his childhood scaling the trees of his local woodlands in the English countryside, enamored by their rich habitat and the freedom he felt high in the canopy. Still an integral part of his adult life, he finds solace in the forest as a place to disconnect, unwind, and stay grounded. This connection has heavily influenced his work as an industrial designer and engineer, finding his calling by designing and building small space structures that connect people to the outdoors.
Starting with the Tree Tent, he spent three years of R&D with the goal to design a suspended treehouse that works with nature, rather than against or around it. Riding on its success, his innovative thinking has since expanded our line-up to include some of the most exciting, elegant, and whimsical structures in the world.
With the ever-increasing need to unplug our digital lives, and the rise in popularity of luxury camping, Tree Tents brings something all its own to the USA’s thriving glamping trend. After all, we’re veterans in what’s been one of Europe’s favorite pastimes for years prior.

With a background in interior architecture, Jodie manages the strategic operations for Tree Tents. Her key skills include project management, production processes and client relations. As Tree Tents scales into a new era, she brings heart and methodical thinking to the fore.
Considering the materiality and experience of spaces, she works closely with the production team to bridge their accomplishments with the strategic efforts of the whole. Solidifying a strong and long-lasting relationships with our clients, she supports each project from planning to implementation.

Production Manager, Will, previously owned his own furniture design company and has a background of management within an international events agency.
He brings a healthy mix of carpentry expertise and operational know how. He ensures Tree Tents is constantly striving for efficiency in production as well as delivering our products to the highest possible standard.
Shira Rossiter

Impassioned by helping campsite, land and business owners elevate their spaces, she dedicates time to developing a deep-rooted understanding of the outdoors industry and the people that make it what it is. She is focused on experience, and consistently works to make the journey of our clients and end users as smooth, simple and beneficial as it can be.

An avid climber with a great passion for all things outdoors, Jackson constantly embraces the thrill of adventure.
Creating our structures in the East Sussex workshop, he considers Tree Tents to be "the perfect environment to hone my skills and share my passion for the wilderness".
Lois Gantley
As Production Administrator at Tree Tents International, Lois streamlines production processes and ensures operational efficiency. With a rich background in administration, business and product development roles, she brings a wealth of experience and a creative touch to her work.
In addition to her role at Tree Tents, Lois owns a fragrance and skincare business, demonstrating her dedication to both operational excellence and innovation.

Willy Roe
As previous Chairman of the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), Willy has achieved recognition including a CBE for his public services within the environmental and renewable sectors.
Championing Scotland and the beautiful spaces it encompasses, he brings this passion to developing key relationships with landowners across the region.
His key focuses include partner relations, planning, Scotland specific location developments, projects & policies. He is also owner of the beautiful Highland Hangout, where visitors can look out across the Scottish landscape from a Tree Tent or Fuselage.

We've gone through great lengths to ensure that our materials are responsibly sourced, 100% recyclable, and of the highest quality.
Utilizing an innovative modular system, every structure is built to order by our skilled team. This approach allows us to address any necessary repairs without the need to replace the entire structure.
By delivering prefabricated components designed to flat-pack, we significantly reduce their carbon footprint across production, transport, and installation phases.
After minimizing our carbon footprint to the fullest extent, we collaborate with community projects to finance the planting of new trees in areas where they are most needed.
